Shiprush not updating amazon

They get part way through downloading the update then bail with the "Unable to update your Fire TV stick". It looks like a combination of the servers being hammered and my impatience. About ready to send mine back...neither of mine will stay connected to my router. In the event that it DOES connect, it says "Connected with problems", and of course gives zero feedback as to what the problem is. UPDATE: It took 3 hours but I was finally able to get both sticks through the update phase. With only these domains blocked, your Fire TV will be able to determine that an update is available, but will not be able to download the update. The third and fourth domains are used by the Fire TV to determine if an update is available.I suspect that whatever channel it was trying to use in my living room (the stick was about 3ft from the router) was causing issues. In my bedroom the stick worked fine (further distance, I assume it's using another channel).

This method routes your Fire TV’s web traffic through a service called Open DNS which can block the domains the Fire TV needs to access in order to update.Honestly they should put a banner on the top the link they list in that screen. It's a terrible first impression issue to have, but glad it's finally working.Show Method 2 Guide This method uses your router’s parental controls to block the domains that the Fire TV accesses when downloading updates.Even if you used method 1 on a rooted device or method 2 on an unrooted device, it’s still a good idea to also use this method.
