My daughter is dating a jehovah witness
Would there happen to be any "children" involved in this relationship, or any on the way? Many JW women who have been disfellowshipped "wait" until they feel that their relationship with a man, is right at the edge of being engaged or right at the edge of marriage, to go back to the Kingdom Hall to attempt to get reinstated. Because they think that the man they are involved with will "follow" them right into the Kingdom Hall, and that the man in this relationship will fear losing the woman if he fails to do so.Behind the scenes (without the man knowing it), the woman has already talked to someone to start a Bible study with the man they are involved with, so that the congregation will assume that "both" in this relationship will become JWs.As far as paying taxes, I have yet to hear a good response from them when I point out that Jesus said to pay taxes to the Roman government. And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's. for more on that.) Some of the Jehovahs Witness doctrines may seem harsh to some. Some people consider the prohibition on sex outside of marriage harsh, although it elevates marriage to something special. Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no? (Luke -25) Paul also taught that we can follow the local government. Some consider attendance in the assembly of Gods church to be harsh, although those of us who love God consider it an easy thing. He seems to be at odds with many of the requirements of his religion, although he believes in the teachings of Jehovahs Witness. The Bible clearly teaches that sex before marriage is forbidden. The reason Jehovahs Witnesses refuse blood transfusions depends on an interpretation of what is meant by eating blood.
I wasn't sure how I would discuss with her father on the issue.
Whether right or wrong, I admire them for sticking to their beliefs on this matter even in the face of death.
The other most notable belief held by most Jehovahs Witnesses is their objection to serving an earthly government.
Allegiance to any other government could conflict with that allegiance.
Furthermore, if they were to fight in a war they might be killing other members of Gods kingdom.
