After attending the 3rd International Urban Sketchers Symposium in the Dominican Republic in 2012, Scott has developed an urban sketchers community in Raleigh, North Carolina and beyond.
She currently works from her Artspace studio 102 in Raleigh’s city market.
Currently she teaches youth and adult printmaking and drawing at Pullen Art Center, Village Art Circle, and Artspace and conducts private printmaking workshops in her Artspace studio.
He will lead an Urban Sketching workshop for the National AIA conference in Atlanta 2015.
Students will acquire techniques and concepts for drawing on location, as well as learn experimental methods for finding stories in the places we take for granted.
The class will sketch on location in Downtown Raleigh around the Artspace/City Market area using a variety of media using pen, ink, watercolor, rubbings of gravel and asphalt, etc.
This course teaches artistic techniques to identify and harness one’s intuition.
Students will complete a painting of their own where these techniques can be put to use.
